It’s just me

From "We" to "Me"...

When I first launched my wedding graphic design business, I was eager to make a strong impression.

I thought it would be more professional and polished to present myself as "we", as though there was a large team behind me working together to create the perfect wedding designs.

I would say things like, "Yes, we’ll get you booked in. We’ll work on it. We designed this project."

It was a comforting approach, but in hindsight, it didn’t fully capture the essence of what my business really was.

As I gained more experience and reflected on my work, I realised the truth: It’s just me.

I’m the designer, the admin person, the sales rep, the cleaner, the art director, the customer service rep, all rolled into one.

Running a one-woman wedding design business means I wear a lot of hats, and that’s not only OK, it’s what makes my approach unique.

The journey from "we" to "me" wasn’t just about branding; it was a shift in mindset.

It became clear that brides, grooms, and businesses, don’t want to just hire a faceless entity to design their wedding stationery, signage, or other graphic elements, they want to connect with the person behind the design.

They want to know who is going to create the personalised, one-of-a-kind designs that will be part of the most memorable day of their lives.

That’s when I truly embraced the power of being a solo business owner in the wedding industry.

Every client interaction, from the first enquiry to the final delivery, is with me, the designer who understands the personal meaning behind every detail.

It’s my job to take their vision and transform it into something tangible, whether it’s a wedding invitation, seating chart, custom signage, or the refreshed branding for a business.

I’m the one who’s directly involved in every step of the process, from the sales call to the design itself, and even the final delivery of the finished product.

And this is where my clients benefit the most.

When they deal with me directly, communication is clear, and their needs are fully understood.

There's no middleman.

No passing messages through layers of a team.

No risk of things getting lost in translation.

It’s just me, dedicated to making their dream wedding or branding come to life through beautiful, personalised graphic design.

This direct communication ensures nothing gets overlooked, and every detail is handled with care.

It eliminates the frustrations that can often arise when clients feel like their vision is being passed around between different people with varying levels of involvement.

In the world of wedding graphic design, it’s easy to get caught up in the idea that you need a big team to make an impact.

But as a small, local business, I’ve realised that what truly sets me apart is my ability to offer a personal, hands-on approach.

Couples and businesses want to work with someone who understands their story and can translate that into beautiful wedding designs, whether that’s through custom invitations, unique seating charts, or cohesive branding for their wedding day or wedding business.

The personal connection makes all the difference, and it’s something I’m proud to offer.

Running a business as a one-woman operation in the wedding industry has taught me the value of authenticity and direct client relationships.

It’s about more than just creating beautiful designs, it’s about providing a seamless, stress-free experience where clients feel truly understood.

So, while the “we” may have worked for a while, I’ve learned that the "me" is what resonates the most with couples looking for a genuine, meaningful wedding experience.

It’s not about pretending to be bigger than I am; it’s about staying true to who I am and creating designs that reflect that authenticity.

And ultimately, that’s what makes all the difference.
