Spare Parts Catalogue Design

Catalogue Design

The client asked me to design and create a spares catalogue design to showcase their product range to their customers.

The existing catalogue design was a black and white, hard-cover book, with the spare parts catalogue contained in the back of the book.

Feedback from colleagues and customers was that this catalogue was only used as a reference for pricing, but the competitor catalogues were utilised for relaying information.

With this in mind, it was decided to give the catalogue design an overhaul, in order to make it an easier-to-use product.

The spare parts catalogue was removed from the main catalogue and became its own separate book. This gave more room in the product catalogue for extra information and images of products and therefore allowed more space for parts diagrams in this book.

I picked up on elements from the main product catalogue design for the spare parts catalogue design.

The spares catalogue design didn't include tabbed sections,  but I added the look of the tabbed sections at the side of the page, so you could identify the section you needed easier.

The catalogue design overhaul was taken a step further by shading the parts diagrams, making it easier to spot the parts themselves, and using the company fonts and colours for captions and lines on the diagrams, therefore making them look universal throughout the book, and on brand.
